The Food Industry and the FDA should develop effective guidelines that actually reduce the levels of food-borne illnesses as opposed to having to follow regulations that may not have any effect on the overall safety of food. It may not be enough to just follow the rules if the steps needed to keep food safe from farm to table are not understood and addressed by all industries and agencies.
