Describe how a written intervention plan in the RTI model differs from an IEP. What is included in the intervention plan?

What will be an ideal response?

An IEP is developed for all students who receive special education services. It is developed by an IEP team, which includes the family, and includes assessment information and a description of goals and objectives. A written intervention plan is information that is compiled by the teacher or the RTI team. It has similarities to an IEP in that it can include a description of the specific intervention, the number of minutes a day that the intervention will be implemented, the persons responsible for providing the intervention, the factors in judging whether the student is experiencing success, a description of the progress monitoring measures, and a schedule. This written communication is provided to the parents. In addition, the parents also receive regular reports on the child's progress. A child does not have to qualify for special education services to have a written intervention plan.
