Describe the process for determining which new number to introduce on the first day of rote counting instruction
What will be an ideal response?
The teacher would test the students individually to determine how high they can rote count without error. The teacher would record the highest number to which each student counts correctly. The teacher determines the lowest number correctly counted to by the members of the group and adds the next two or three numbers in the counting sequence. For example, if the lowest number the members of the group counted to was 11, the next two numbers, 12 and 13, would be introduced.
