Define COMPSTAT and identify it’s two core components.

What will be an ideal response?

COMPSTAT is a data-driven approach to policing that was introduced in 1994, by Police Commissioner William Bratton of the New York City Police Department. The core of components of COMPTSAT are Data and Accountability. Data are analyzed to identify serious crime problems, and then the problems are assigned to specific individuals for resolution (usually management level). A critical task is to identify tactics that can be effectively used to address the crime problem. Accountability comes in to play as once a problem is assigned, it is owned by the person until resolved.
