List in order and explain the 4 S's for developing each main point of a speech

What will be an ideal response?

The four S's are: signpost, state, support, and summarize. First, a speaker needs to
signpost their idea, telling the audience where they are in the message. Words such as "first,"
"initially," "second," and "finally" are examples of signposting. Second, the speaker needs to
clearly and precisely state the idea in complete sentences with only one main idea in each
sentence. Third, a speaker must support the main point using the appropriate supporting
materials, including examples, statistics, narrative, testimony, comparisons, etc. Finally, a
speaker needs to summarize the idea through a brief sentence that provides closure for that
idea and reinforces its main point.
