How does instruction in Question-Answer-Relationship improve students’ reading comprehension?

What will be an ideal response?

Question-Answer-Relationship provides several benefits to the comprehension of elementary students. First, QAR helps students understand the thinking necessary for good comprehension. Some information is simply in the text (Right There questions), other information must be searched out (Think and Search). Author and Me questions instruct the readers that the authors provides some clues and they must provide the rest of information. On My Own questions tell the students that their opinions and judgments must be related to the text. As students learn how questions work they gain the ability to ask good questions which enhances their comprehension.
