Explain the causes of land breezes versus sea breezes
The land breeze–sea breezeis a daily cycle of local winds that occurs in responseto pressure differences caused by the differential heating of landand water. During the day, the land and the air above it heats quickly, warming to a higher temperature thanthat of the nearby ocean. The warm daytime air above the landexpands and rises, creating a local area of low pressure, and therising air is replaced by denser, cooler air from over the bodyof water. Thus, a sea breeze of cool, moist air blows in over theland during the day.
At night, the land and the air above it cools more quickly andto a lower temperature than the nearby water body and the airabove it. Consequently, the pressure builds higher over the landand air flows out to the lower pressure over the water, creating aland breeze
