• Read portions of the text to students and compose a cooperative summary of the text so that students have something to read.
• Rewrite portions of the text. This is easier to do if you are using a digital text.
• Use a digital text that has text-to-speech and a dictionary. If text is not digitized, use technology that scans the text and reads it to students.
