In your opinion, is it fair for a family court to order divorced parents to provide their children with postmajority support when intact families are not subject to the same requirement?

What will be an ideal response?

This is a subjective matter, but since state intervention is required for the divorce, the state certainly has the power to require support “in the best interest of the child.” The state will generally only act if the court feels the child’s expectations would have been to go to college before the divorce, and the parents have to means to pay for it.
