Describe the authors' recommended procedure for teaching reading with expression
What will be an ideal response?
The teacher reads the first sentence, modeling expression, then calls on the group and individuals to read that sentence with expression. Then the teacher reads the first sentence and the next sentence together modeling expression, then calls on the group and individuals to read those sentences together with expression from the beginning. This procedure is repeated for each new sentence, so that the children are able to practice reading a cluster of sentences with fluency.

From this, we can infer that Kiki thought Hiro was washing the dirt off to make the potato taste better. Kiki wants her potatoes to taste better too, so that is why she copied the washing behavior. In reality, Kiki was simply drawn to the location or behavior and there was no inference of desired goals. What principle best describes this situation?
