What is the purpose of unemployment compensation? Are all employees eligible for unemployment compensation?

What will be an ideal response?

Unemployment compensation is a program that was established to assist workers who are temporarily unemployed. The Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) and state laws were enacted to implement the program to which employers are required to pay unemployment contributions (taxes). Not all employees are eligible for unemployment compensation. While each state establishes its own eligibility requirements, to collect benefits, applicants must be able to work and be available for work and seeking employment. Additionally, workers who have been let go because of bad conduct (e.g., illegal activity, drug use on the job) or who voluntarily quit work without just cause are not eligible to receive unemployment benefits.
