Describe six considerations the authors suggest in responding to students’ writing.
What will be an ideal response?
When responding to student writing, teachers should be positive, focus on only a portion of students’ writing in feedback, give feedback during the writing process, deal with content first and mechanics later. Teachers can observe students when they write, encourage invented spelling, and make peer reviewing a regular part of classroom activities.
