Consider what other minerals might be in this igneous rock other than the quartz and two feldspars. Why aren't these minerals also present in the arkose?

What will be an ideal response?

The other minerals present in the granite are biotite and amphibole. Both of these are Fe-Mg rich minerals and they are not present in the arkose because they have been chemically weathered into clay and Fe-oxides (hence the reddish color of the arkose).
