Why should you shred unwanted credit card offers that you receive in the mail?

What will be an ideal response?

Many credit card offers have your name and address (and sometimes additional information) on the cards or accompanying information. If you simply throw this material away, a thief could use the card to open an account in your name. Credit card information that has been shredded will reduce the likelihood of someone using the card.
