Students should first be mentally prepared for the test they are about to take. They should make sure they have the materials (pens, calculators, etc.) they will need for the exam. They should get a good night's sleep before the exam, and on the day of the test itself, they should make sure they arrive on time. Before beginning to work on the exam, they should read the directions carefully and preview the test to discover the number and nature (essays, true/false, etc.) of the questions.
