Recall the role of insulin in carbohydrate metabolism

Draw parallels between the roles of insulin in lipid and
carbohydrate metabolism.

Insulin promotes glucose uptake and storage of glucose.
In an analogous way, insulin promotes fatty acid uptake
and storage as triglycerides in adipocytes. Furthermore,
insulin inhibits glycogen breakdown and gluconeogenesis
and similarly inhibits lipolysis. Overall, insulin is an anabolic
hormone that promotes energy storage.
