Answer: Physical growth is at its peak during infancy, during childhood it can occur in spurts, healthy children grow a few inches taller each year. Second period of increased growth is adolescence with onset of puberty, gain 15% of adult height-continue growing taller into 20s, gain 45-85% more weight than when they entered puberty. for both- males and females kidneys double in size, stomach grows and begins secreting enzymes, brain finishes growing by 6-10 years, heart by 9 years.
