What are principles to detect deception?

What will be an ideal response?

Communication is both verbal and nonverbal, influenced by the way that we learn through our senses. Lie detection has come to rely on these modes of expression to develop baseline expectations to distinguish between truth tellers and liars. Researchers are actively developing technology to detect and measure physiological cues to deceit. Because most of the stimuli to the brain occur on an unconscious level, attempts to persuade through the subconscious often occur. Interviewers can gain insight into a person by identifying the person’s primary learning mode and using that information to mirror and model. Shifting is a method of playing back to the individual the mode in which he or she feels most comfortable communicating.
Behavioral interviewing is not an interviewing model but a rich source of techniques that incorporates verbal, nonverbal, and physiological communications awareness. During an interview or interrogation, the investigator should be acutely aware of the cognitive indicators that may indicate deceit through behaviors.
