These steps must be completed in sequential order, and each step must be completed before moving to the next. Those steps include identifying the research problem, stating one or more research questions/hypotheses, reviewing and writing a literature review, developing a research plan, collecting and analyzing data, developing conclusions and recommendations, and preparing a final research report. When reviewing these steps, it is clear that the qualitative research process is linear and mutually exclusive.
