Explain the relationship between the epiglottis, the larynx, the pharynx, and the trachea
What will be an ideal response?
The pharynx is the back of the mouth, at the beginning of what you would call the throat. Both food and air pass through the pharynx. At the junction of the pharynx and the larynx (the voice box) is a flap of tissue supported by cartilage, the epiglottis, which covers the opening to the larynx (the glottis) during swallowing. During swallowing, food is diverted to the esophagus, which carries food to the stomach.

K+ leak channels are found in the plasma membrane. These channels open and close in an unregulated, random fashion. What do they accomplish in a resting cell?
