Explain how NULLS are treated by Aggregate functions. Provide examples
What will be an ideal response?
Aggregate functions ignore nulls. They are not included in the SUM, MAX, MIN, or AVG. This probably has the most effect on averages. An average consists of the SUM of the values divided by the number of rows. Rows with NULLS are not counted, which effects the value of the average.
