Give one example of how failing to use common sense with social media can lead to a HIPAA violation
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Taking a photograph (or video) at work that includes a patient's image, identity, or medical information and then sharing it with someone else via social media is a violation of the patient's privacy and confidentiality. Once a photograph, video, message, or other content is posted on social media it becomes public. HIPAA violations can lead to serious repercussions when confidential or private information about patients is shared or posted online.
