When you get a test, the first thing to do is to write your name on the paper before you forget. Then, pre-view the test. Read the directions carefully so you know if you are to answer all the questions or just four of six. Make sure the matching section is looking for similar answers, not opposites. Look at the point spread, meaning how many points each section is worth. This information will help you budget your time. You have a better chance of a better test result if you can finish the test in the time given. Finally, look out for questions that answer other questions. Sometimes a term discussed in the matching section can be used on an essay, or a concept in the multiple-choice section is used for a fill-in-the-blank. Pre-viewing a test is just smart test taking!
