Web apps are becoming increasingly popular. Please define what a Web app is and give an example of one. Also, describe the difference between an ASP and an SaaS, including what these acronyms stand for.

What will be an ideal response?

- Web application definition: A Web application (or Web app) is software that is accessed with a Web browser. Instead of running locally, the program code for the software runs on a remote computer connected to the Internet or other computer network.

- Examples of a Web app: Google, Microsoft, and other software vendors offer popular spreadsheet and word processing Web apps that allow participants in multiple locations to collaborate on projects. Many Web apps, such as Gmail and Facebook, require no installation at all on your local computer.

ASP and SaaS: Companies supplying software that runs from the Internet are referred to as application service providers (ASPs). The process of deploying software over the Internet is termed Software as a Service (SaaS).
