The declarative memories, or fact memories, are stored by way of the hippocampus into areas of the brain cortex. Semantic memories for the impersonal information, such as the names of the ten guitarists, are stored in the back portion of the cortex. Personal memories, such as your trip to the Gibson Guitar Plant in Memphis, are episodic memories and are stored in the front portion of the cortex.
