Explain the relationship of lifestyle factors to coronary heart disease and cardiac rehabilitation.

What will be an ideal response?

Most patients involved in cardiac rehabilitation are given dietary instructions and put on an exercise program involving walking, jogging, bicycling, or other exercises at least three times a week for 30-45 minutes. Exercise improves prognosis and may be especially important for people low in socioeconomic status (SES) with or at risk for coronary heart disease. Younger patients, women, and people with little social support, high social conflict, and negative coping styles are most at risk for high stress, and therefore require stress management.
