Discuss the adage "hire for attitude, train for skill." What are its implications for the attraction, training, and retention of top talent?
What will be an ideal response?
The idea is that people have enduring attitudes and that if we find employees with the desired attitude we can always train them in specific skills. It is very difficult to change a person's attitude, so when firms are looking for new employees, the identification of a desired attitude should be the main emphasis.
