What will be an ideal response?
Malaria comes from a mosquito bite that infests the red blood cells; the disease is characterized by alternating fever and chills and anemia.
Babesiosis is caused by Babesia microti from a deer tick bite, results in the same clinical picture as malaria with invasion and damage to red blood cells resulting in fever, chills, and anemia. Most individuals develop mild disease and recover but those who had a splenectomy may develop a more severe form of the disease.
