Cohen 1971 asserts that language use a distinct accomplishment of human organism. Discuss the educational implications
Ans: One of the most important educational implications is that people use language to learn the facts and concepts by listening and talking to teachers and other students. This would mean that the purpose of education is to learn and accumulate language which cannot be done on one’s own but with the help of proper communication which would be mediated by language. Secondly, language would help people build rapport with many other people thus, build a career by earning an educational qualification. This would mean that people need a job to survive and education serves that purpose as it prepares one for a future job. Thirdly, language helps people interact with others thus help them make friends and connections. This would mean that people are social animals and they use language to befriend and communicate their feelings and emotions through words to others around thus helping their social development.
