The important part of empathy is to understand what the consumer experiences in an event. Empathy may involve observation that can be documented in a variety of ways. Methods explained in the book include the AEIOU process or the empathy map. Observation can lead to insight, which provides the path to creating the solution. In addition to observation, the entrepreneur can also ask clarifying questions through conversation or interviews. Observation will include everyone affected by the process.
