The reason for an embargo is to provide connectors with time to prepare a story before an announcement is made. An embargo is a sign of trust between journalist and a marketer or public relations firm. Bloggers sometimes do not respect embargoes and post information ahead of time. This act undermines the effectiveness of the embargo as a tactic.
