Explain how the parabolic trough solar energy system produces electricity
What will be an ideal response?
The parabolic trough generating system consists of large solar reflectors with piping running through the middle of them. The fluid flows through the piping that continually picks up heat energy from the solar energy. A heat exchanger allows the fluid to heat water in a second loop until it reaches steam which is used to move a typical electrical generating turbine. At night or when the fluid flowing through the piping becomes too cool to produce steam, and alternative energy such as natural gas issues to heat the water to steam

What would the mixed air temperature be for a system with 20% outdoor air if the outdoor temperature is 90°F and the return air temperature is 80°F?
A) 0.2 × 90°F = 18°F; 0.8 × 80°F = 64°F; 18°F + 64°F = 82°F mixed air temperature B) (90°F + 80°F) ? .4 = 68°F C) 0.8 × 90°F = 18°F; 18°F + 80°F = 98°F mixed air temperature D) ( 90°F + 80°F ) / 2 = 85°F mixed air temperature
