Why do karst landscapes not form in areas underlain by igneous rocks, but instead, form in areas underlain by limestone?

Igneous rocks are more resistant to chemical weathering than rocks like limestone. The slight acidity of rainwater and groundwater will readily dissolve the limestone to form sinkholes, caves, and other features of karst landscapes.
