Ultimately, your rewards, bonuses, and promotional prospects depend on the
relationships you have with others. You don’t need to behave in an underhanded way to
stand out, but with so much competition in the workplace there is nothing wrong with
ensuring that your hard work is acknowledged and fairly rewarded. Of course, you can
choose to stay out of politics altogether, but this may mean getting passed over for promotions simply because you are not being seen by the people responsible for
