Describe the three main phases of the Project Approach

In Phase One, the project opens and can include three key events. The first of these three events is the initial starting point at which time the project is introduced. During the second key event, the topic web is developed and the class collects and maps out ideas according to what children know about the topic. The third key event includes listing questions, where emerging questions are collected and responded to over the course of the project. During Phase Two, children collect information. This includes preparing for fieldwork, conducting the actual fieldwork, and fieldwork follow-up. Finally, during Phase Three, the culminating event occurs. During this event, children present the results of the project to others, including such people as other children and/or family members.
