Ans: Lewy bodies are substances found in the neuron. When these Lewy bodies build up, they cause damage consistent with a neurocognitive disorder. The symptoms include changes in alertness and attention resulting in drowsiness or staring into space. Other symptoms include visual hallucinations and Parkinson’s-like symptoms roughly 1 year after the cognitive impairment begins.
