Here are the results from a series of card-sorting sessions. The first item in each group is the name that users gave to the group. The remaining items represent content pages. A hierarchical navigation system is appropriate for this information. Sketch a global navigation system that has two levels of horizontal navigation bars. You only need to sketch the top-level navigation bar once, but your sketch should give an indication of what each secondary navigation bar will contain.
Check that the sketched navigation bars are indeed horizontal. Check that the top-level navigation bar contains the labels, and that the secondary level navigation bars contain the group items. If they want to alphabetize the items, that’s fine but it doesn’t really add that much.
Please don’t make them use a HTML authoring system to do this – have them sketch it on paper. To address complaints of “My handwriting stinks,” point out that this is a very small amount of text and it won’t take long to write, even if they have to write more slowly than usual.
