What is an informational interview? How is it beneficial?

What will be an ideal response?

An informational interview is when you interview someone in a career of interest to learn more about that field. This type of interview gives you an opportunity to get a more personal look at the career, exploring benefits and challenges. This information is typically different from the information posted on websites. An additional benefit is that you can begin networking so that when you are looking for employment later, you have already made some connections.
