Explain the difference between ketogenesis and ketosis

What will be an ideal response?

Under certain conditions, the acetyl-CoA molecules produced in hepatocytes by ?-oxidation of fatty acids can combine to form ketone bodies through ketogenesis. These molecules enter cells and are converted back into two molecules of acetyl-CoA and then fed into the citric acid cycle. During starvation or similar conditions, ketone bodies are produced faster than the cells can use them, causing ketosis.
