What are the benefits of an integrated approach to teaching reading?

What will be an ideal response?

Many approaches can be taken in teaching reading, and it could be that many should be used, rather than relying on one method. Any single method may be helpful, but the role of the teacher and the quality of instruction continue to play increasingly large roles in today?s literacy programs. No single method has been shown to be superior over all others. So a integrated approach is often recommended to reach all students, add variety and creativity, and implement a number of philosophies and ideas. A teacher?s professional judgment, above all else, should be valued and acted upon.
