Explain the process known as lateralization of the brain and how it may be related to sex differences in cognition

What will be an ideal response?

During the course of development the two halves of the brain become increasingly specialized to handle different types of information. According to one version of the lateralization hypothesis, girls' brains mature more quickly and lateralize earlier than boys' do. This is believed to result in stronger verbal skills in girls and visual-spatial skills in boys.
