Answers standardized achievement tests are used to assess the degree of current knowledge or learning in either broad or domain-specific areas. Standardized aptitude tests assess an individual’s future potential to learn in general or domain-specific areas. Career/educational interest inventories assess preferences in certain activities, and personality tests are used to assess individual characteristics such as attitudes/beliefs. Teachers are most likely to administer tests in group format, as it is cost-effective and easy, while individually administered tests are usually administered by specially trained personnel and are encountered during meetings by teachers during meetings, particularly special education eligibility determination.
