Your text provides three types of propositions that serve as central ideas in a persuasive speech. Identify and explain each type. Then, using the hypothetical speech topic of "The War on Terrorism," write a proposition statement that reflects each of the three types

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Proposition statements will vary but answers should include the following information:
Proposition of fact: a statement focusing on debatable topics such as whether something is true or false or on whether it did or did not happen. Example statement – If we had not pursued our country’s enemies and begun the war on terrorism, America would have fallen to the terrorists long ago.
Proposition of value: a statement that calls for the listener to judge the worth of something by directly comparing two things, and then suggesting one option is better than the other. Example statement – Is it better to live in a world of fear or in a world of being in control? By refusing to let the actions of terrorists impact our lives, we are defeating their primary purpose and letting our own actions dictate how we live.
Proposition of policy: a statement advocating a specific action; usually includes the word “should.” Example statement – We should cease the war on terrorism and focus on uniting the disparate factions of the Middle East instead.
