Name one advantage and one disadvantage of using a paired comparison test in sensory evaluation testing

Paired comparison tests have two coded samples that are presented simultaneously and evaluated for intensity of a specific characteristic. One advantage of a paired comparison test is the small number of samples to analyze. Panelists are asked to select a specific characteristic (sweet, sour, thick, thin, etc.) and are not required to give descriptions. A disadvantage is that a product's appearance can affect the sensory panelists' evaluation and there is room for individual biases.
