List and explain the ten steps to test taking.

What will be an ideal response?

Step 1: Use a memory data dump. As soon as you get the test, write down the information you need on the test but might forget.
Step 2: Preview the test. Look over the test and put a mark by the easy problems.
Step 3: Do a second memory dump. Write down additional material that you will need to solve the problems.
Step 4: Develop a test-progress schedule. Figure out how many problems you should have completed by the time the test is half over.
Step 5: Answer the easiest problems first. Look at the problems that have marks by them and answer them first.
Step 6: Skip difficult problems. After working the easy problems, try some of the difficult problems. Skip the ones you cannot answer.
Step 7: Review the skipped problems. Go over each problem you could not do.
Step 8: Guess at the remaining problems. Try to put down the first step of the problem or rewrite the problem. Don’t leave it blank.
Step 9: Review the test. Look for careless errors.
Step 10: Use all the test time. Review each problem by substituting the answer back into the equation. Don’t leave the room until you have reviewed the test two times.
