New discoveries in biotechnology are providing opportunities for gene therapy. Gene therapy can modify and even eliminate genes that may make a person prone to a particular disease or disability. The Human Genome Project has supplied us with an enormous amount of information regarding human genetics. Epigenetics is pushing our knowledge even further.
