Is it reasonable to allow Junior Doctors to take industrial action? Should the law prohibit industrial action amongst key service providers?
What will be an ideal response?
? It could be argued that every person’s job is crucial, to the organisation in which
they work, so everyone is a key service provider. Developing that argument we
would have to conclude that no one can take strike action, which is not what UK
law says.
? Maybe it can be argued that some services are more crucial than others, but
arguably that concludes that the public sector as a whole cannot take industrial
action.
? Maybe prohibiting industrial action is not fair. It takes all power away from the
employee.
