How could a counter circuit be used to count paint cans moving along a conveyor line in a factory? How could the counter help group eight cans together for packaging?

What will be an ideal response?

A light sensor detects whenever a paint can passes by. The signal from the sensor changes from one logic level to another when this occurs. The sensor signal is used as the clocking signal for the counter. A decoder attached to the counter output is designed to produce and output when the counter reaches eight (1000). The decoder signal initiates the packaging circuitry to work and causes a counter reset to occur so the
next eight paint cans may be detected.
