How do people with an internal locus of control differ from those with an external locus of control?

What will be an ideal response?

People with an internal locus of control tend to be more optimistic. They see themselves as capable of controlling their lives and they take responsibility for their decisions and outcomes, both positive and negative. People with an external locus of control tend to be more pessimistic. They see their lives as controlled by outside forces (fate, luck, etc.) and they blame those forces when they are disappointed. People with an external locus of control tend to view themselves as having little control over their lives.
