- Intercultural communication is communication between people who are unlike culturally and have different views of the world. Communication is intercultural when people with differences because of their cultural backgrounds create different interpretations and expectations. People from different cultures perceive the world quite differently can lead to misunderstandings, hurt feelings, isolation, and other challenges when they interact.
